Seattle is known as the birthplace of grunge rock, home to Bill Gates, and as one of the most beautiful places in America. Tourists visiting the Pacific Northwest have many choices to make. That’s where Adventure Travels comes in.

5. What is Adventure Travels? From a secluded spot in Discovery Park to a 37 point historic tour of the city… Adventure Travels helps visitors discover the real Seattle!

6. The Beginning Tim Edwards was born and raised in Seattle. He was a swimmer in high school and became a triathlete in his twenties. As he trained for competitions he began to explore the hiking trails, national forests, and nearby lakes in the Seattle area. Once he got his business degree he decided to try and start his own travel business showing people the area he loves so much!

7. Starting Adventure Travel Tim’s vision was to cater to the outdoor enthusiast. Visitors to the area often wanted to hike, camp or kayak but did not have the appropriate equipment. He wanted to offer tours, complete with equipment and maps. He also loves history and wanted to offer tours to helps visitors explore the city’s “off the beaten path” attractions.

8. Starting Adventure Travels Tim researched other travel services in the area. One other operation offers outdoor tours but it did not include historic agendas, nor did they offer trips to Olympic National Forest. Tim believes he has found his niche in the market!

10. Attracting Customers Tim expects his busy season to run from June to September. Tim plans on distributing brochures to local hotels, cafes, and the Chamber of Commerce. He plans to advertise in the Seattle Spectator and offer a detailed website. Tim is also planning winter tours and holiday events and tours.

11. Your role at Adventure Travels Congratulations and welcome to Adventure Travels. You’ve been hired to work as an accounting clerk for Tim. You will begin work on June 1 st, 2008 and you will be responsible for keeping accounting records.
