4 Today we will learn how to: Use eChalk email to: Send an attachment Open an attachment What are attachments? When might a student need an attachment? When might a teacher need an attachment?

5 To get ready for today: Open a new Word document Answer this question: “What is your favorite part of being an iSquader? Save the document. Be sure you know where you saved it!

6 Sending an Attachment 1. Go to Write Mail 2. Address the email 3. Click Attach Files (you can use either link) 4. Don’t forget to include a subject and message!

7 Sending an Attachment *If you want to attach multiple files, repeat steps 1 & 2 before step 3. Your attachments will be listed below the subject line in the write screen. 2. Click attach. The title should appear on the list. 3. Click OK 1. Click Browse. Find the location where you saved the attachment & click ‘open.’ 3 Steps: Use this button, if the attachment is stored in your digital locker. Finish writing and send the message An attachment cannot be larger than 15 MB

8 Opening an Attachment Click on the attachment while viewing message. *REMEMBER: NEVER open an attachment that you do not recognize! This is a common way to ‘catch’ a virus!*

11 Try It Send an email to your partner. Attach the document you wrote in the beginning of the session. When you receive your partner’s email in your inbox, how can you tell it has an attachment? Open or save the file you’ve been sent
