3.  We have visited hydroelectric power plant Dubrava located on the Drava River and learned how the energy of water is converted into electricity.

4.  Water from the reservoir falls down into the dam of the power plant in which there are large turbines (parts of a turbine on the picture).

5. How does that work?Take a look!  The turbine converts the energy of water into mechanical energy that drives a generator and mechanical energy drives levers that turn a large number of magnets in the generator. The generator creates a magnetic field which then generates electricity.

6.  Using special equipment- transformers, electricity comes to our homes.

7.  Hydroelectric power plant Dubrava annually produces 349 GWh of electricity.

8.  This is us with our teachers while visiting the hydroelectric power plant Dubrava.

9.  After our visit to the power plant, we have created models of it.
