The Amazon Rainforest By Kimiko Shihara Raheem and Brianna Sewell Listen up because there is a quiz at the end!!

The Map and Location of the Amazon Rainforest The Amazon Rainforest includes territory from 9 nations The majority of the forest (60%) is within Brazil 13 % of the Rainforest is in Peru With just small amounts in; Columbia; Venezuela; Ecuador; Bolivia; Guyana; Suriname; French Guiana Map of the Amazon Rainforest Bibliography- Wikipedia

Climate of the Amazon Rainforest The temperatures never fall under 24 Degrees Celsius. The Amazon Rainforest is warm, but 2-9 meters of rain can fall in one year. The climate is hot, sticky and very humid Bibliography BrainPop.com http://www.buzzle.com/articles/amazon-rainforest-plants.html

Adaptation All the organisms have to adapt to the Amazon Rainforest’s hot and humid temperature

Sloths The sloths have adapted to the trees because they hide in the canopy from the other consumers living in the forest Sloths are known for how slow they walk and how much they sleep

Macaws Macaws have adapted to live in the Amazon Rainforest because they have a very loud screech. They have adapted their screech so they can communicate with each other. Macaws are also very colorful, which makes them able to be spotten easily by the other Macaws Judging by the size of the Macaws beak, it shows that they are able to crack open food, and etc.

Plants of the Amazon Rainforest There are many different types of plants in the Amazon Rainforest. Approximately one-third of the world’s plants live in the Amazon Rainforest The plants are known for their health properties. Some say that they are a key to the cure of cancer or possibly AIDS Interdependency is very important for the community that live in the Amazon Rainforest Interdependency is when the different organisms depend on each other to live (this is connected to the food chain)

The Human Activity in the Amazon Rainforest The environmental conditions in the Amazon Rainforest are Deforestation, Industrial Agriculture and Human Population Growth.

Human Population Growth This can effect the Amazon Rainforest because when the human population grows the city grows with it and uses the Amazon Rainforest by using it’s land space for human use. Bibliography- www.marietta.edu/- biol/biomes/troprain.htmwww.marietta.edu/- biol/biomes/troprain.htm

Industrial Agriculture This links to Human Population Growth because it has to do with building the community. It also links with Deforestation because they have to clear trees to build different buildings. Bibliography- www.marietta.edu/- biol/biomes/troprain.htmwww.marietta.edu/- biol/biomes/troprain.htm

Deforestation Deforestation is when the humans cut down trees Humans use these trees for making things such as paper and other objects used by humans Trees are also cut down for space for the humans to live in Bibliography- Wikipedia

Our Opinion We think that this is bad because this rainforest is very important to us. We think it should stop but since the rulers of the world want to develop faster they use all of the threats we told you about. It is very important that we protect the Amazon Rainforest because it is the habitat and home of around a third of the animals and plants of the world. The things that the humans do the the forest greatly effect the animals and plants.

THE END Thank you for watching our presentation on the Amazon Rainforest! We hope you enjoyed it Make a change for the environment! Pleas e help us!
