3 A 30 % Reduction Recent studies show a 30% reduction cavities of those people in fluoridated areas.

4 Protect those cannot protect themselves Fluoridated water ensures that those that do not have correct dental hygiene habits still get access to fluoride.

5 Mouth health and heart disease A recent study showed that the bacteria associated with tooth decay may also cause heart disease.

6 Excess fluoride and bone damage Too much fluoride may actually cause a weakening of bones even leading to cancer. It may also stain teeth.

7 Ethical Issues Is it right to have a treatment forced onto you because of where you live?

8 Flouridation is out dated Flouride has been added to water since the 1960’s. But modern toothpastes now contain more fluoride.

9 Fluoride is carefully controlled Fluoride only makes up 1 part per million of tap water.

10 You cannot control fluoride intake A person may live in fluoridated water area, drink lots of tap water, brush their teeth twice a day and use mouthwash. Is this too much fluoride?
