2 Minnesota Eye Consultantswww.mneye.com Purpose & Methods Purpose –To review the post-operative outcomes of patients undergoing presbyopic lens implantation in one or both eyes with the ReZoom, ReSTOR or crystalens intraocular lens. Methods –A retrospective analysis was performed including all Minnesota Eye Consultants patients undergoing presbyopic lens placement after cataract surgery and/or clear lens extraction between the dates of 1/1/2004 and 12/31/2006.

3 Minnesota Eye Consultantswww.mneye.com Results Overall Demographics –231 eyes of 137 patients –42% Males, 58% Females –Average age: 57.8 years IOL Breakdown –ReZoom: 86 eyes (37%) –ReSTOR: 40 eyes (17%) –crystalens: 105 eyes (45%) Indications for surgery –Cataract: 224 (97%) –Clear lens exchange: 6 (2.6%) –IOL Exchange: 1 (0.04%)

12 Minnesota Eye Consultantswww.mneye.com Conclusion Presbyopic intraocular lenses offer the possibility of functional distance and near vision, without the use of glasses in many patients. Preoperative counseling is important in setting appropriate expectations for the procedure, and additional effort in the preoperative and postoperative period is important in obtaining a good result.
