1 The Father’s Love Adopted Ephesians 1:3-13

2 Orphaned Ezekiel 39:23-24 “And the nations will know that the people of Israel went into exile for their sin, because they were unfaithful to me. So I hid my face from them and handed them over to their enemies, and they all fell by the sword. 24 I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and their offenses, and I hid my face from them.”

3 “I will not leave you as orphans;
Orphaned Sin is breaking relationship. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:18

4 Orphaned Sin is breaking relationship. Our Father is alive!

5 Ephesians 1:3-13 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—

6 Ephesians 1:3-13 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace 8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

7 Ephesians 1:3-13 9 And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment — to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.

8 Ephesians 1:3-13 11 In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.”

9 Adopted Predestination is about adoption.
The motivation is passionate, pursuing love. “In love he predestined us.” Ephesians 1:4.

10 Romans 8:15 “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."”

11 Romans 8:28-30 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

12 Romans 8:28-30 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.”

13 Adopted Predestination is about adoption.
The motivation is passionate, pursuing love. The emphasis is on God’s work. This relationship is orchestrated, not forced.

14 Receiving Love Our job is to show up!
“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.” John 1:12-13

15 Receiving Love Our job is to show up! We receive him, he gives.

16 1 Peter 1:18-20 “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.”

17 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price.”

18 The natural result: praise and thanksgiving.
Ephesians 1:3-4 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him . . .”
