THE law and character of God are central to the great controversy, and when the controversy is finally over, God’s law and character will be vindicated before the onlooking universe.
Rightly understood, God’s law helps to reveal just what God’s grace has offered us in Christ.
Panimulang Salita. “THEREFORE the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.”

THE word torah is a commonly used Hebrew word in the Old Testament and is often translated as “law.”
The New Testament uses the Greek nomos (law) to translate torah.
Torah means “direction” or “guidance.” Law in the Bible generally refers to all of God’s instructions to His people..
Inihahayag ang Diyos. Ang salitang torah ay karaniwang ginagamit na salitang Hebreo sa Lumang Tipan at kadalasang isinasalin bilang “kautusan.” ¶ Ang Bagong Tipan ay ginagamit ang Griyegong nomos (kautusan) para isalin ang torah. ¶ Ang torah ay nangangahulugang “direksiyon” o “pamamatnubay.” Ang kautusan sa Biblia ay karaniwang tumutukoy sa lahat ng tagubilin ng Diyos sa Kanyang bayan.

And because God Himself is good and righteous, and guides and instructs His people in goodness and righteousness, we rightly assume that His law reveals His goodness and righteousness.

Some of these instructions are clearly universal; others appear to be more limited in time and scope.
But because all of them are God’s instructions (torah), the greatest care is needed in the development of principles that help us to understand what is universal and what is limited.
Panlahat, Limitado. Civil laws: instructions regarding the community life of the nation of ancient Israel.

Doesn’t it make sense that moral issues such as stealing, killing, adultery, and idolatry are universally wrong, regardless of culture?
When the Bible is so clear that sin is defined through the law (Rom. 7:7), the notion of the law being abrogated or superceded is an illogical position for any Christian.
Ang Kautusang Moral Ngayon. Hindi ba makatuwiran na ang mga isyung moral gaya ng pagnanakaw, pagpatay, pangangalunya, at idolatriya ay pangkalahatang mali, anuman ang kultura? ¶ Nang ang Biblia ay napakalinaw na ang kasalanan ay nililiwanag sa pamamagitan ng kautusan, ang palagay na ang kautusan ay pinawalang-bisa o pinalitan ay isang di-makautwirang posisyon para sa sinumang Kristiyano.

1. Romans 3:19, 20. “By the law is the knowledge of sin.”
2. Psalm 119:5, 6. Those who obey the law will not be put to shame.

Through the working of the Holy Spirit, the law creates in the sinner a need for the grace (gospel) of Christ.

3. Ang Relasyon ng Kautusan sa Biyaya. Bago dumating ang pananampalataya, nabibilanggo tayo at binabantayan sa ilalim ng kautusan…. Kaya’t ang kautusan ay naging ating tagasupil hanggang sa dumating si Cristo, upang tayo’y ariingganap sa pamamagitan ng pananampalataya. ¶ Subalit ngayong dumating na ang pananampalataya, tayo ay wala na sa ilalim ng tagasupil.

THE whole issue of the Christian obligation to the law suddenly gets very murky when the question of obedience to the fourth commandment arises, particularly in regard to the seventh day itself.

Exodus 20:9, 10 points out when the Sabbath occurs (the seventh day), and how it is to be kept (cessation of regular work by all under one’s shelter) in order for its holiness to be guarded.

By pointing us to Christ as our Creator and Redeemer, the Sabbath is a powerful symbol of the gospel of grace.
Our resting on the Sabbath reveals that we are not saved by the works of the law but by what Christ has done for us.
Sa pagtuturo sa atin kay Cristo bilang ating Manlalalang at Tagatubos, ang Sabbath ay isang makapangyarihang simbolo ng ebanghelyo ng biyaya. ¶ Ang pangingilin natin sa Sabbath ay nagpapakita na hindi tayo naligtas sa pamamagitan ng mga gawa ng kautusan kundi sa ginawa ni Cristo para sa atin. ¶ Kaya, ang kapahingahan ng Sabbath ang naging isang simbolo ng kapahingahang meron tayo kay Jesus.
Thus, Sabbath rest becomes a symbol of the rest we have in Jesus (see Heb. 4:3–9).
