1 Getting the Most Out of Blue Mountain RAM
Keith Kyle, Enterprise Sales Manager

2 Overview Features & capabilities Implementation expansion
Vendor relationship Q&A In this session, a variety of steps that customers can take to get the most out of Blue Mountain RAM will be covered. There are many ways to maximize the benefits of an existing Blue Mountain RAM implementation that can include anything from taking advantage of lesser known/new features to extending use of the application to other groups in your organizations. The goal of this session will be to keep you informed of the possibilities and their benefits to enable you to get the most out of your Blue Mountain RAM implementation.

3 Features & Capabilities
Workflow Management SQL Server Reporting Services Electronic Log Books Off Label Usage -Workflow Management – a little review first! -Did you know?

4 Workflow Management What is Workflow?
Progress of work: the progress or rate of progress of work done by a business, department or person How does Blue Mountain RAM facilitate Workflow? Workspaces Queries Reports Form/Field Configurations Rules Engine An area of distinction of the Blue Mountain RAM solution. BMRAM workflow the functionality is designed to help manage GMP workflows. A collection of many including Forms, Queries, Reports, Workspaces and the Rules Engine.

5 Workflow - Workspaces What the user directly interacts with on a daily basis

6 Workflow – Example Work Order

7 Workflow – Rules Engine
Under the Hood look at the Rules Builder What controls the workflow in terms of E-Signatures, Rights, State Flow and Notifications (End Users naturally do not see this configuration area) Blue Mountain uses this tool to configure workflow rules for customer

8 Workflow – How to Maximize the Benefit
Business Process Analysis Existing vs. optimized Diagram the Workflows Training Project Team - application understanding End user – day to day usage Effective work instructions Tailored to your workflow BPA occurs early on in the implementation/upgrade project(s) Note, Cover all points and the show diagram Show Example BP Diagram  What it looks like when diagramed

9 SQL Reporting Services
Label printing Bar coding Subscription-based reports Segue into “Did you know” segment of Feature and Capabilities a.k.a. - SSRS

10 Calibration/PM Stickers
Label Printer i.e. / Brother P-Touch Specially sized SSRS Report

11 Barcoding of ID Fields Barcoding of ID fields ie. / On Cal/PM Stickers, Work Orders, etc. 3rd Party Components to Generate Barcodes i.e. / Neodynamics

12 Subscription-Based Reports
Examples : Events Due Equipment Warranty/Service Contract Expirations Aging Study Work Due in 30 Days Failure Notifications Summary Management KPI Reports

13 Log Books Designed as an option to replace paper log books
In conjunction Quick Search Control & Barcodes, this feature offers the ability to eliminate or at least reduce the number of physical log books maintained. Not a heavily used feature to date. One of the challenges it to have a workstation available near the Equipment for live entry

14 Off Label Usage Clearblue Blog  Off the Labeled Path Examples
Examples Asset induction Change request Deviation OOT investigation Configurability has been a hallmark of Blue Mountain’s software over the years.

15 Out of Tolerance Investigation
Call it what you want – designate a custom record title Configure it how you want – specify field/tab visibility and layout, labeling, and workflow Report and Query on it how you want – build custom workspaces to include queries, reports and actions specific to the workflows associated with each UDART record type Automatically Generate when you want – configure the system to automatically create UDART records based on conditions encountered such as when an Out of Tolerance is recorded on a Calibration Work History a by Technician

16 Implementation Expansion
Functionality Usage Take advantage of additional functionality Existing features not part of original project scope New features added over time Internal Additional departments or groups External Additional facilities Scalable architecture - over half of existing Blue Mountain RAM sites today are part of multi-site implementations. Blue Mountain RAM was built to support this scenario.

17 Implementation Expansion
Increased ROI through reduced IT costs IT infrastructure & IQ/OQ investments have already been incurred Consolidate asset management systems Reduce implementations & validation costs with web based systems Reduced IT hardware costs & associated maintenance Reduce IT management requirements Reduce total cost of ownership by implementing at enterprise level Source : Building the Business Case Webinar

18 Maintaining Relationship with your Vendor
Vendor as SME GAMP 5 Good Automated Manufacturing Processes Views the supplier (vendor) in a key role throughout the system lifecycle  SME of the product. Contact with your Sales and Project Managers Direct window into Blue Mountain Feature & service feedback Vendor as SME – GAMP 5 recognizes this fact GAMP 5 Lifecycle ConceptProjectOperationalRetirement

19 Maintaining Relationship with your Vendor
Blue Mountain event participation User conferences  The Blue Mountain Summit Webinars  Product release demonstrations, Clear Blue series, etc. Catch up with us at NCSL, ISPE or other industry events where we are often present Software Maintenance – keeping it current Access to our team of Software Implementation Analysts Free access to software & documentation updates User manuals, Validation Protocol updates, etc. Bug fixes, service releases & release upgrades

20 R3 SR2 Highlights Document Embedding - allows for documents (i.e. Cal Certs) to be uploaded directly into a record such as a calibration work history and stored within our database. Eliminates the file share linking step from this type of workflow Support for IE 9 Browser – Inherently faster; in addition to IE 8; sets the stage for IE 10 Advanced Quick Find - extends existing Quick Find feature on queries to allow the user to add multiple quick find conditions using AND/OR conditions on-the-fly against queries. Can reduce the total number of queries that you maintain and/or the modifications necessary to those queries. Reports available on Workspaces - in addition to pinning queries to workspaces, users will now be able to pin the common reports that they need to access (i.e. / KPI Reports such as Planned vs. Unplanned Work for the Month) Etc. R3 SR2 Demonstration session planned toward the end of the conference
