13 UWE and Rolls Royce PLC are the Sponsors of the CLF The Nature of Academy Sponsorship What does this relationship achieve? –Outstanding Governance to Improve student outcomes –Critical Friendship and Educational Challenge –Widening Participation from the Classroom to the University for more students to access HE each year 109 students from CLF joined HE in 2013 37 of these are studying at UWE

14 Research and Knowledge Exchanges Regional Recruitment within the Widening Participation Agenda –Milburn Report recommendation makes explicit that HE use more of their WP funding to achieve this HEFCE funded research into enhanced partnerships-CLF case study within this NCTL Opinion Piece by Ron Ritchie Chair of CLF Board-Performance Management and Critical friend Sir David Carter contribution to UWE as a Visiting Professor
