1 The roman coliseum By: Ben Waldman 7B

2 Question #1; Where is it located?
The structure is “The Roman Colosseum” and it is located in the middle of Rome, Italy.

3 Question #2; why is it unique?
It is unique because it’s said to be the greatest structure ever made in roman architecture and engineering. It’s also unique because its in the middle of Rome. It is a 189m by156m and 48m high. It was also made out of cut stone and it was completed in the year 82 and it still stands today…well most of it.

4 Question #3; what was it used for?
The Coliseum was used for the roman emperor to watch gladiators fight other gladiators or exotic animals to the death. I think that its form matches its function. I think that because there was an area for the gladiators to fight in, many seats and an area for the emperor. So that’s why I think that its form and function match. Now the Colosseum is a tourist attraction because watching people kill other people is no longer entertaining to watch.
