Learning Objective: Learning Objective: Given a world map and descriptions with information from the PowerPoint, the student will be able to label continents with 100% accuracy. Content Standard: Content Standard: 3.03 Demonstrate how to and locate major physical and political features on globes and maps. Accomplishment: Accomplishment: 1.3.02 Recognize how to identify and locate major physical and political features on maps and globes. C. Locate cities, states, countries, and continents on maps and globes and major bodies of water on maps and globes.

3 The Continents O There are SEVEN continents that make up our planet Earth. O They are…North America (Our Home), South America, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, Australia, and Africa. O The Largest Continent is ASIA, next is AFRICA, followed by NORTH AMERICA, then it’s SOUTH AMERICA, after is ANTARCTICA, the second smallest is EUROPE, and the smallest continent is AUSTRALIA.

4 Team Adventure To… With a partner, it is your job to make it around the world and back together! To have a safe and fun travel together, you both have to come up with the correct answer to each riddle! After you have been all around the world, you both will label a blank map of the amazing places you’ve gone together! Have a Blast!

10 Third Stop! O I’m the smallest America. O I am also the very close to the continent you call home. Who Am I? North America South America East America

12 Fourth Stop! O I’m bigger than Europe and smaller than South America. O I’m also located all the way at the bottom of every map! Who Am I? Antarctica Africa Asia

13 Awesome! Antarctica is at the bottom of the world!

14 Fifth Stop! O I’m the second largest continent in the world! O I’m home to desert animals like the Saharan Cheetah. Who Am I? Africa North America South America

15 You’re a Pro! The second largest continent is Africa! Africa is also home to the Saharan Cheetah who lives in the Sahara Desert!

16 Last Stop! O You came to the best place for last! I am the third largest continent in the world! O I’m home to so many diverse people! O I’m also the continent you are on right now! Who Am I? South America North America Australia
