2 What is Cyber Safety? It’s about keeping information safe and secure
It’s about being responsible and respectful online It includes using good ‘netiquette’ (online etiquette)

When you write online, it’s sometimes easy to forget that there’s a real person on the other end of your message. It’s also easier to say and do things you might not say or do in person. Keep this in mind and treat others respectfully. PS – UPPER CASE LETTERS MAY MAKE SOMEONE THINK YOU ARE SHOUTING!!!

5 Keeping Personal Information Safe
Personal Information should not be shared online. Personal Information Includes: Full Name Address Birthday Phone Number School Photos Hector's World Personal Information Video

6 Passwords Choose strong passwords using letters and numbers
Don’t write passwords down Never share passwords with anyone (except your parents or a trusted adult) The Password Rap

7 Cyberbullying People can be mean online, just like in real life. However, being behind a computer screen often makes it easier to say or do mean things that you wouldn’t do in person.

8 If Cyberbullying happens to you…
Tell a parent or teacher Don’t answer mean comments. Save them and show a parent or teacher. Block to cyber bully so that they can’t contact you Report them to the game or social forum Cyberbullying Video

9 Offensive Content Some websites are not meant for kids. To avoid seeing something inappropriate: Set the search engine to block mature content Install internet filter software Book mark safe and fun websites Filtering and Monitoring Software Parental Control Websites

10 Offensive Content If you come across material that makes you feel uncomfortable or upset: Tell your parent or teacher Know how to escape (Ctrl/Alt/Delete) Know The Rules Rap

11 Social Networking Set your profile to private
Keep personal details private Only accept requests from people you know and like Be careful who you trust Ask friends to ask for your permissions before tagging you
