No deaths related to methamphetamine, heroin or cocaine were reported for the county in 2012, the latest data available. Admissions for treatment of methamphetamine abuse was highest in the county in 2012, followed by marijuana, controlled prescription drugs, heroin, and cocaine. The amount of indoor marijuana plants seized in the county rose significantly from 2011 (24) to 2013 (260). Reported outdoor plants seized totaled 128 in 2013. The number of medical marijuana cardholders in Umatilla County in October 2013 (562) was over nine times the amount reported in April 2006 (58). Marijuana arrests doubled in the county between 2006 and 2013, while cocaine and heroin arrests remained at a comparatively low level in the county. Return to arrests page

While treatment admissions for heroin (+84%) and controlled prescription drugs (+207%) rose from 2004 to 2012, admissions for methamphetamine (-52%), marijuana (-17%), and cocaine (-82%) declined during the same period. Treatment Admissions - Per Capita The number of treatment admissions for major illicit drugs in Umatilla County was higher when compared to most other HIDTA counties, but lower when compared to Multnomah, Jackson, and Jefferson counties from 2006 to 2012. Over the last nine years, deaths related to abuse of methamphetamine have varied from zero to four and heroin deaths have ranged from zero to two in the county.
