1 DINOSAURS By TJ Layne, Emily Howenstine, Hunter Cox, Ty Stefanatos, Blake Harner and MacKenzie Thornsbury

2 Velociraptor by Emily Howenstine Means “speedy thief” Carnivore (meat eater) 5 to 6 feet long 15 to 33 pounds The first Velociraptor was found in Mongolia in 1924. Velociraptor had a sharp, deadly, long claw on each foot.

3 Stegosaurus by Ty Stefanatos Means “roof lizard” or “plated lizard” Herbivore (plant-eater) Found in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming Stegosaurus had 17 bony plates that were in its back. It was the size of a bus but it’s brain was the size of a walnut.

4 Spinosaurus by Hunter Cox Means “spiny lizard” 40-50 feet long 4 tons or more It ate meat, it was a carnivore It lived in Egypt and Morocco The sail may have also been used to attract mates or seem bigger than it was.

5 Tyrannosaurus Rex by TJ Layne Means ‘’tyrant lizard king” 40 feet (12.4 m) long Carnivore (meat-eater) Found in U.S.A, Canada and Asia The first T- Rex was found in Montana Tyrannosaurus Rex’s arms were only about 3 feet (1 m) long. T-Rex had teeth that were continually replaced.

6 Giganotosaurus by Blake Harner Name means “Giant Southern Lizard” Carnivore - meat eater. It ate large plant eater dinosaurs. 44-46 ft. long Weighed 8 tons Found in Argentina, South America Giganotosaurs was longer than T. Rex!

7 Apatosaurus by Kenzie Thornsbury Means “deceptive lizard” Herbivore (plant-eater). Apatosaurus swallowed stones to help grind up it’s tough plant food, it did not chew it’s food. 70-90 feet long 33-38 tons Fossils have been found in Colorado, Oklahoma, Utah and Wyoming Nostrils were on the top of it’s head.
