4 Description A research paper debating the copyright issues surrounding Shepard Fairey’s “Hope” image of President Obama. I exposed both sides of the argument: Fairey violated copyright law and therefore is unethical versus Fairey’s “Hope” image was a necessary component to President Obama’s election and therefore his copyright violations can be excused. I discovered that what is more important than the debate surrounding Fairey’s image is the connection that President Obama and Fairey share.
