The Act of Rededication of the Church Facilities (Continued) One: To the glory of God, our Father, by whose favor we have builded; to the honor of Jesus the Christ, the Son of the living God and our Saviour; to the praise of the Holy Spirit, source of life and light. All: We rededicate this house. One: For worship in prayer and song, for the ministry of the Word, for the observance of the holy ordinances. All: We rededicate this house. One: To the sanctification of the family; to the training and nurture of childhood; to the inspiration of youth and the salvation of all. All: We rededicate this house. One: To the help of the needy; to the promotion of brotherhood; to the extension of the kingdom through the whole wide world. All: We rededicate this house. The Act of Rededication of ALL One: Wondrous God, the skies and the highest heavens cannot contain you, much less temples made by human hands. Yet you dwell on this earth among us and make yourself known in sacred space and time. Receive this house afresh for your glory as we rededicate it and ourselves to your service. All: Fill this sanctuary with your Holy Spirit. May its walls, its furnishings, its holy emblems, declare your praise. One: Consecrate afresh this building to your service and this church to Christ’s ministry. May we show forth your loving-kindness as a light upon a stand that leads others to see our good works and give you praise. All: Accept the praise of our lips, the songs of our hearts, the adoration of our spirits, that in all things we may glorify you and enjoy you for ever. One: Attend to every prayer uttered aloud or in secret, touching each heart with the certainty that no prayer goes unanswered. All: Proclaim your word by the reading of the scripture and the preaching of the gospel. May all take heart and believe to their salvation and to the renewal of the world. One: Reveal yourself to your people gathered around the Lord’s table in the breaking of bread and in communion with one another. (The Lord’s Prayer: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen)

The Act of Rededication of the Church Facilities One: We set apart this house to the worship of the living and true God, and to the service of Jesus Christ our Lord. All: We devote it to the preaching of the gospel of the grace of God for the conversion of sinners, and to the education of Christians in a knowledge of spiritual truth, in all the activities of Christian Life. One: Here the incense of prayer and praise ascend to God. Here shall the ordinanaces of the Lord’s house be sacredly observed. All: Here shall the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever, be sounded out for the salvation of the perishing, and shine as a perpetual light to guide God’s pilgrims through the night of Time to the land of everlasting light. One: Here may children of sin and sorrow find a refuge from despair and ruin, and Christians a harbor to which they can resort when the tempest is high, and be safe. All: May no discordant note of strife ever be heard within these walls, no unholy spirit of pride or worldliness find entrance here. One: And may God graciously accept this offering of a house in His name-an offering made by grateful hearts and willing hands-and bless every heart that shares this gift. All: May multitudes here be born to God, so that when all these here today shall have gone to their eternal home, others will take up the service until Jesus comes and all His are gathered home. The Act of Rededication of ALL (Continued) All: Greet with outstretched arms newborn children entrusted to your care, embracing them with a love that draws them ever nearer to you. One: Enfold in your loving care those who are baptized. Grant that they may know themselves to be members of the body of Christ through God’s everlasting covenant. All: Bless by your presence those who pledge themselves to one another in holy marriage, adding your strength to their vows. One: Reconcile by the power of your Spirit those who feel themselves estranged from you and one another. Within this body grant them your peace, putting an end to all hostility. All: Comfort all who gather in mourning for the loss of a loved one, giving them courage to celebrate the gift of life and to know your eternal love. One: Sanctify all that we are, all that we have, all that we shall become, and make us wholly yours. All: Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to you, our God, forever and ever! Amen.

June 12 th 2 - 6 PM BOLINDALE CHRISTIAN CHURCH 2749 Fairview SE Warren, Ohio 44484 $5 ADULTS, $3 CHILDREN Flood Recovery Continues in Nashville by Gregory Rumburg, Elder, Vine Street Christian Church The rain just kept coming down... It's a common refrain within Nashville conversation this week. One part recollection. One part revelation of disbelief. "My daughter got scared," Dave, a local father, shared. "She'd never seen so much water." Others were not so fortunate. In water-ravaged neighborhoods, Metro Nashville officials are directing people to separate their homes and personal belongings--items now known simply as flood debris--into four piles. A fifth pile seems to be emerging- -the one called, "Try to save." A grandmother's trunk from Ellis Island. Christmas ornaments chock-full of family memories of holidays past. Photos documenting a once-happy family now separated by distance, death or divorce... and now flood water. The rain just kept coming down... (You may give to week of compassion in our offering and we will see that your gift reaches Week of Compassion)

Matthew 16:13-20 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?" [14] And they said, "Some say John the Baptist, but others Elijah, and still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets." [15] He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" [16] Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." [17] And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven.

[18] And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. [19] I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." [20] Then he sternly ordered the disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.
