2 Overcommitment to Clubs At the Activities Fair, you found a number of new clubs that you want to join. You want to stay involved with clubs from freshmen year, but you don’t have enough time to do everything. How do you choose?

3 Overcommitment to Clubs ● Prioritize your clubs: which ones to keep or which ones to drop o academic connection o sport o leadership positions o continuity o personal preference ● If you need to step back from a club, let the exec board know.

4 Bringing Up Your Grade in a Class You’re taking a more advanced class in your major, or taking a class outside of your comfort zone. You received a low grade on your first exam or essay. What can you do to recover and get a good grade in the class?

5 Bringing Up Your Grade in a Class -Go to the Professor’s office hours and have a conversation with him/her -Go to the Filene Center to find the tutor’s hours -Schedule a time each day to dedicate to working on that class

6 Athletics Conflict with Classes You’re scheduling your classes for next semester, but your varsity practice and game schedule prevents you from taking a class you need for your major. How do you make sure you complete your major on time?

9 Social vs. Academic -Your social life is important and under-prioritizing it can make you less productive academically. -Decide on when you will work on academics and when you will let yourself relax. -Leave yourself some time for leisure when you schedule out your timetable for the week/month.

12 Task Oriented Focus on the things they hope to accomplish. Have concrete goals and detailed lists ➔ Daily/Weekly worksheets ➔ Break things down (to-do’s) ➔ Efficiency ➔ Productivity

14 Parental expectations ● What happens when your interests are different from your parents? ● Make sure to acknowledge their opinion but realize that yours are ultimately the priority.
