4 Category Change  What groups are eligible?  Already recognized by SU for at least one semester  Either Category 2 or 3  What’s the process?  First fill out an application(Under Forms on SU’s Portfolio Page)  Student groups could then start to prepare the presentation  SGAC Chair (starting from this semester) will give a brief notice to student groups about approximately when they will be presenting once he or she sees the application on Portfolio  Two weeks before the actual presentation date, student groups will get an email from SGAC Chair regarding to the specific date, location and their time slots of presentation  Throughout the whole process, groups are encouraged to email SGAC Chair with questions or arrange a meeting to talk about it  When does the result come out?  Student groups will receive an email from SGAC Chair the night of their presentation regarding SGAC’s decision of their requests  SGAC Chair will also cc SU Business Coordinator, Speaker of Treasury and VP Finance in the email to inform them about the decision and make the update as soon as possible

5 New Groups Recognition  What groups are eligible?  Any groups that are run by WashU undergraduate student  What’s the process?  Fill out an application in Portfolio, named Student Union Portfolio Page Application. Once the application is submitted, the name of the group will automatically show up on the list of new groups applications  Remaining process are the same  When does the result come out?  Same as Category Change

6 Current Docket  SGAC will have at least two meetings this semester  1 st meeting on Feb 7 th ; 2 nd meeting on Feb 28 th  The first meeting is now full. SGAC will be seeing 10 groups (3 category change groups and 7 new groups)  4-5 more spots remaining for the second meeting.

7 Commonly Asked Questions  Q: If I’m a sports club, should I apply for Sports Club Board recognition or should I seek SU recognition?  A: You should go to Sports Club Board first if you considered yourself more of a sports club. If you are a sports clubs already, you do not need to get SU recognition.
