1 The Event Publisher Tool The purpose of the BOSS Event Publisher Tool is to record all Recreational events, Community Service, and BOSS Council Meetings happening on your Installation. It is the responsibility of the BOSS Executive Council to record each event by utilizing the Event Publisher Tool. In this lesson you will learn how to record an event utilizing the Event Publisher Tool on the www.bo4ss.com portal. www.bo4ss.com

2 The Event Publisher Tool First you must navigate to the proper web-link to gain access to the Event Publisher Tool. Open your web browser and type the web address www.bo4ss.com and hit the “enter” or “return” button on your keyboard. www.bo4ss.com Once you have successfully navigated to the www.bo4ss.com portal your screen should look like the image at the top of this slide.www.bo4ss.com

3 The Event Publisher Tool The next step in using the Event Publisher Tool is clicking the “Event Publisher” button

4 The Event Publisher Tool Next you will be prompted to enter a password. The password to the Event Publisher Tool site is “event”. The password is case sensitive and must be entered in all lower case letters. Once you have properly entered the password click the “Login” button and you will be forwarded to the Event Publisher site.

5 The Event Publisher Tool The next step in using the Event Publisher Tool is selecting your respective IMCOM Region button. If you need help determining which IMCOM Region you belong to, contact your Garrison Command Sergeant Major or your FMWR Advisor. Once you know which IMCOM Region you will be reporting under click the proper “Region” button.

6 The Event Publisher Tool Once you have reached the Region reporting entry page you will have a series of input options to perform. First select your Installation from the list on the left side of the page.

7 The Event Publisher Tool Next input the name of the Event that you are reporting.

8 The Event Publisher Tool Then select the Month, Date and Year in which the event took place.

9 The Event Publisher Tool Now you will type a short description of the event which took place.

10 The Event Publisher Tool Next you will select which type of event you are reporting (Recreation, Community Service, or a BOSS Council Meeting).

11 The Event Publisher Tool Input the number of attendees who participated in the event you are reporting. Remember to only use numbers and do not use special characters. (good examples: 60, 74, 1; bad examples: 600-700, forty, 18ish)

12 The Event Publisher Tool Input the number of volunteers who participated in the event you are reporting. Remember to only use numbers and do not use special characters. (good examples: 60, 74, 1; bad examples: 600-700, forty, 18ish)

13 The Event Publisher Tool Input the total number of volunteer hours for the volunteers who participated in the event you are reporting. Remember to only use numbers and do not use special characters. (good examples: 60, 74, 1; bad examples: 600-700, forty, 18ish). Also, remember this is a “total” number of volunteer hours which means if there are 3 volunteers who volunteer for 10 hours each the total number of volunteer hours to report is 30.

14 The Event Publisher Tool Next input the total dollars spent on the event you are reporting. Remember to only use numbers and do not use special characters. (good examples: 60.00, 74, 1.72; bad examples: $600-700, forty, 18ish)

15 The Event Publisher Tool Next input the total amount of dollars generated during the event you are reporting. Remember to only use numbers and do not use special characters. (good examples: 60.00, 74, 1.72; bad examples: $600-700, forty, 18ish)

16 The Event Publisher Tool If there are any additional comments that you would like to share with the Region and Headquarters leadership please input the comments into the Additional Comments box.

17 If there are any pictures that you would like to share with the Region and Headquarters leadership please attach them to the event report by selecting up to four pictures to add to each event submission. The Event Publisher Tool

18 Now that your event submission is prepared to submit double check your inputs to ensure they are correct. Once you have verified that your inputs are correct click the “Submit Event” at the bottom of the page. The Event Publisher Tool
