What is Mentoring?  A relationship aimed to provide professional & personal support to a mentee  Mentor is synonymous with trusted adviser, friend, teacher, wise person  “a brain to pick, an ear to listen and a push in the right direction”  Mentoring is used to assist individuals at specific times of their development and lasts for a defined period of time

6. Professional Mentoring Scheme Cont.  Duration: 4 months  Meetings take place at the mentors workplace  Meet your mentor at least once a month  Topics: CV, application forms, interviews, presentation skills, networking, roles within a sector.

8.  Opportunity to mentor young pupils at local secondary schools and colleges  Share your knowledge, skills and experience to others  Develop your personal skills  Gain a sense of growth and personal fulfilment

Peer Mentoring Scheme Cont.  Duration: Up to 3 months  Meetings will take place at the University or School/College  Topics: University life, study skills, UCAS applications, interviews, employability skills, part time work, school achievement & beyond, career ambition & pathway, time management, dealing with stress, problem solving, success.
