11 Asking for + Responsibility When your Teacher seems unwilling to give you more responsibility, here are some ways to suggest you can be trusted to take initiative: I think I´m ready for…. How much time should I spend preparing…. ? What resources do we have to prepare…. ? Would you like me to develop a specific angle or perspective into this topic? Would you like me to show you what I´m working on so that you can give me your feedback?

12 Communication: (Non) Verbal Cues Establish verbal and non-verbal cues to communicate while the class is in session: It’s time to…. I need your help with… Do you need me to….

13 Communication: Polite Requests There will always be some problems. Try to express them politely and optimistically. In many cases your T can probably help you solve them! I think I´m having difficulty adapting to… It would really help me a lot if you could… I think I would not find this so difficult if you could help me prepare/organize, etc…. I´m having difficulty with X. Can you show me / teach me how you do this/that? I think it would really help me.

14 Remember that during your stay, you are also going to be ambassadors of the Spanish culture, and your involvement in all the activities in relation to the Spanish sister schools and cultural activities are of GREAT IMPORTANCE AND VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!
