1 Welcome to the Seventh European Space Weather Week A Glover & A Belehaki on behalf of the ESWW7 Programme Committee

2 This meeting is being jointly organised by the Solar-Terrestrial Centre of Excellence (STCE), ESA, the SWWT and the COST ES0803 communities. 3 ESWW1 took place in 2004, building on the annual ESA applications workshop. The advent of COST 724 led to the creation of the European Space Weather Week bringing together scientific and applications communities Now a major annual event in the European Space Weather calendar bringing together scientific and applications communities International awareness growing as seen by participants and sponsorship A Brief History
