1 Use different sheets in one workbook to store raw data from different sources / about different aspects of the investigation. This way, you can see all relevant information at a glance. You can also use sheets for higher levels of abstraction, e.g. summary. You can restrict the data that can be entered in a cell (data -> validation). This is a way to enter information quickly and avoid type errors. If you later count sums, you need the exact same spelling. These fields match the questions in the screening questionnaire. Some programs also enable you to export the filled-in forms in a.csv file you could copy here.

2 Staff and students have separated tables since they also have a slightly different questionnaire. From the participant’s Code (first column) the role (student or staff) can be told.

3 Use references to other sheets in same workbook to display the same information. This way, you get the necessary overview on the page you need it, but don’t duplicate information which would bear the risk of inconsistency.
