1 Presentation to UCIST 13 June 2008 Andrea Chappell

2 UW-ACE Statistics: Where are we? Look at some trends over 3 – 4 term period What we collect What we don’t, but probably should, collect E.g., look for more detailed usage trends Continue to track Learning Program Suite, new ANGEL add-on for roll-up of outcomes, usage, etc. Hear what reporting is important to UCIST Formalize for general updates, ROI, planning

3 Statistics Collection to Date Very basic stats, shared with CTE Liaisons, DE, UCIST, but quite informal Number of courses in UW-ACE Break down by DE and campus Sometimes break down by Faculty and Department Percentage of total (total number of courses is a bit ill defined for our use [offerings versus courses, and held- with or combined sections all complicate percentage]) Total number of students

4 Interest in Feature Usage Statistics So far, no tracking of use of various features How much up-take/increase in use of feature X? (Discussion forums, quizzes, assignment upload, email, announcements, etc.) What Faculties typically use which features? Feature usage of interest for considering: Pedagogical impacts of UW-ACE Indicator of support staff workload (more complex use of UW-ACE may mean more support needs) OLE review – What features are important?
