6 Associated Centers and Other Units  Self Help Network: Center for Community Support and Research has participated in a variety of externally funded community research projects and initiatives for more than 20 years and is nationally considered an exemplar in meeting the research, education and service mission of an urban university like WSU.  Psychology Clinic: As well as providing outpatient mental health services for the community, our Psychology Clinic is the primary setting in which students in the our clinical psychology program at WSU attain early, supervised experience in psychological assessment and therapy.  Software Usability Research Laboratory: This lab evaluates the usability of software and websites for many “Fortune 500” companies. SURL has also been involved in the WSU Banner Project.

8 Mission Orientation  The urban mission of WSU has driven the development of all of our doctoral programs the selection of faculty involvement of undergraduates in applied research our research orientation extensive collaboration with community agencies, industry, and business the development of our undergraduate drug and alcohol counseling program

10 Ph.D. Program Evaluation  In addition to what is required, the department, in the Summer of 2005 conducted an assessment of our Ph.D. graduates.  We had 70 graduates in all.  We were able to contact 52 of them.  This project is ongoing.

11 Some Highlights of the Survey  ALL of the 52 who filled out the survey are employed in Psychology-related jobs.  50% of participants work in the State of Kansas  Modal Salary for Clinical Graduates: $40,000 to $60,000  Modal Salary for Community Graduates: $60,000 to $80,000  Modal Salary for Human Factors Graduates: $80,000 to $100,000
