3 Paragraph as an Object A document is a collection of objects. Text objects are organized in blocks called paragraphs. Paragraph objects have properties that are easily controlled using Styles.

4 Processing changes to paragraphs DO most of the following using Styles and you will find it easy to eddt documents that are longer than a page. Change margins, line spacing, alignment, and paragraph indents Aligning Text – never, ever use spaces. Modify Line Spacing Using the Format Painter (not a preferred practice) Change Fonts and Font Sizes Use a Numbered List to Organize Data Adding a Comment

5 Special paragraph formatting numbered bullets graphic bullets Indents and outdents (hanging indents) Indent left and right Spacing between paragraphs

6 Check Spelling and Grammar Word's Spelling and Grammar checker highlights typing errors in red and grammatical errors in green as you type.

7 Spell checker? Is it really spell checking? Correct words are marked as incorrect Incorrect words are not marked incorrect. If it is not a spell checker, what IS it?

11 Undo and Redo Reverse edits using the Undo button Reverse Undo actions using the Redo button

12 Moving Text within the Document Cut, copy and paste text Ctrl+X = cut Ctrl+C = copy Ctrl+V = paste Drag and drop text

19 Using Styles – the best way Format > Styles By far the best way to accomplish formatting, especially if your document is more than one page long.
