Now that you’ve met Robert Gagne, let me explain what we’re going to do in this lesson. I will begin by showing you an overview of Gagne’s Hierarchy of Learning. Then, I will break down this Hierarchy into its individual steps.
Then, I will use children’s blocks to explain each step and to provide you with examples. We’ll also work together to develop a parallel lesson using a similar set of children’s blocks.
After that, I’ll help you to develop your own lesson, following Gagne’s principles.
Then, we’ll proceed to the next step in Gagne’s Hierarchy of Learning.
So, when we’re done, we will have three sets of examples of Gagne’s hierarchy of learning. I will have developed the first one as an example of how it’s done. You and I will have developed the second one together. You will have developed the third one, with me just acting as your guide - you if you need it.
