1 Attention Authors! A webquest for 9 th and 10 th grade English Language Arts Designed by Jennifer M. Enderlin

2 Introduction All of the books in the class library have gone missing. They need to be replaced immediately. This is good news for you because it means that you have the opportunity of a lifetime – to be a published author. All you have to do now is write the story. How will you do that, you ask? That’s completely up to you. Write about anything your heart desires and let your imagination run wild. All of the books in the class library have gone missing. They need to be replaced immediately. This is good news for you because it means that you have the opportunity of a lifetime – to be a published author. All you have to do now is write the story. How will you do that, you ask? That’s completely up to you. Write about anything your heart desires and let your imagination run wild.

3 Task To complete this assignment, you have to write three different stories, and they must be either fiction or nonfiction. You must have at least two of one genre and one of the other. (For example, you might write two fiction stories and one nonfiction story). Then, when you have written your stories, you will give them each a cover. These can either be hand drawn or you can use clip art and web images – either way, I want to see color and decoration. 4 Process You are to work independently to write your three stories, and you are to choose how many of each genre you would like to write. Remember, you must do a combination of some fiction stories and some nonfiction stories. When you finish they will be turned in as part of the class library for your peers to look at and read. Each story must be at least 3 – 6 pages long, but the closer to six pages you have for each story, the better your grade will be.
