Marlborough Sound The Marlborough Sounds at the top of the South Island are one of the most beautiful and tranquil places in New Zealand. Richly endowed with jewels of natural beauty, this intricate maze of waterways with its attractive beaches and lush greenery provides for the perfect nature experience.

Queenstown Rugged mountains, majestic lakes, crystal clear air, and just so much to do. From bungy jumping to wine trails, jet boating to tramping, dining out to skiing, the tricky part is extending your stay to try and fit everything in

Queenstown A resort town, Queenstown is a centre for adventure tourism. Skiing, jet boating, bungy jumping, mountain biking, tramping and fly fishing are all strong promotional themes. Queenstown is a major centre for snow sports in New Zealand, with people from all over the country and many parts of the world travelling to ski at the four main mountain skifields (Cardrona Alpine Resort, Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Treble Cone).

Milford Sound

With its dramatic peaks and dark blue waters that reach depths of nearly 870 feet, Milford Sound is the star of glacier- carved Fiordland National Park. The area's frequent downpours only enhance this South Island beauty, sending numerous waterfalls cascading down the cliffs.

Cromwell Cromwell has since become the fruit and wine centre of the south. Cromwell's original commercial area was drowned... but there is now a pleasant new town centre with modern facilities. However, the old town centre with its historic bridge has not been forgotten! Old Cromwell Incorporated was formed to do something positive about this loss, and the result is a splendid reminder of days gone by! While there is a lot of work yet to be done, many of the original town buildings have already been either restored or reconstructed. History lives on!

Christchurch Internationally famed 'The Garden City', Christchurch's well-established expansive parks and public gardens owe much to the planning and foresight of the city's founding fathers. To the east lie the open ocean and Banks Peninsula, featuring sheltered bays, sandy beaches, bush clad valleys, rocky coastline and high, wild places. Boating, tramping, a visit to the wineries and the French settlers' harbourside village of Akaroa are key peninsula attractions.
