3 II. Objectives A. To help students identity the main idea of the article B. To help students understand the structure of the article C. To help students find the topic sentence of each paragraph D. To help students clarify the relationships between main and supporting ideas E. To help students organize and synthesize the ideas F. To help students compose a logical outline for the oral report

4 III. Steps A. Finish reading assigned online articles listed on the site B. Identify topic sentence and key words in a paragraph C. Highlight important information in the articles D. Synthesize and organize the important messages and convert them into the headings and subheadings in an outline E. Get together with the group mates and compose a logical group outline for the exhibit

5 IV. Principles: Balanced Structure and hierarchical form A. Begin with similar word form in the same level entry B. Group the similar information in the same level entry C. Begin with the most general ideas as the main headings in the first level then the major details as the subheadings in the second level and minor details in the third levels accordingly D. Divide at least two parts in each division
