2. Teaching The demand for teachers to be more computer literate is constantly increasing. In the business of education computers are used everyday to perform multiple tasks.

3. Teachers use computers to perform several tasks. Keeping track of grades Contacting parents or other employees Sending or receiving homework Creating an educational website Presenting lessons Keeping attendance Building class websites Teaching students how to use computer tools Typing documents for students

4. Keeping A Student Grade Book Teachers can simply keep track of their students grades by using the computer. This easy task may be performed through programs such as Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Excel can also be used by teachers to keep class attendance

5. Using Email  Teachers can use email to keep in touch with students outside of the class room.  In certain cases a teacher may need to contact a students parent. This may also be done by email.  Email may be used by teachers to send homework assignments to students, or used to receive homework from students.

6. Website Construction Some teachers may choose to build a website for their class. If teachers do this it could be a benefit for their students. From a class website, a student may be able to Check their grades Look at upcoming homework Review lessons taught in class

7. Teaching With The Computer Using programs such as:  CD ROMs  Online Newspapers  Microsoft PowerPoint  Or Interactive Encyclopedias may help teachers present material to students in a more visual way.

8. Besides the reasons already mentioned, a teachers understanding of simple computer programs is also important to the students. If teachers are well educated with computers, they are able to assists students with simple tasks as word processing or internet research.

9. It is critical for teachers to posses computer knowledge if they want to benefit both themselves and their students. Teachers who know how to take advantage of computers in the classroom are more of an asset to their school district in the future.
