5 Stereotypical Long Islander: 17 year old girl with Daddy’s credit card, driving a new BMW 6 series, texting on her new swarovski crystal encrusted Juicy Couture sidekick and carrying a Gucci handbag. Reality: 17 year old girl who has been working since she was 15, driving a used car that was either bought for her or she paid for, texting on her pink Razr and carrying a Coach bag.

6 Stereotypical Long Island Male: The Guido Often portrayed as humorously and incorrigibly uncultured with a thuggish and macho attitude and an unyielding pride in his Italian ancestry. They are commonly thought of to wear gold chains, sweat or track suits, unbuttoned dress shirts, tank tops or guinea T’s and North Face or leather jackets. They have a common hairstyle known as the blowout or tape up. Slicked back hair is also associated with the Guido stereotype. The Gotti Boys and Tony Soprano are examples of stereotypical “Guidos”.

8 It is said that all girls from Long Island look, think, talk, and dress alike. It is said that all girls from Long Island look, think, talk, and dress alike. It is said that people that grow up in Long Island are completely spoiled. It is said that people that grow up in Long Island are completely spoiled. Sometimes, these statements can be true, but for the most part all girls from Long Island are not the same, although they may wear the same types of clothing, and talk alike they are all individuals. Although many people from Long Island are somewhat spoiled, they still have to work hard for things and don’t always just have everything handed to them.

9 Many people have ideas in their heads about people from Long Island, and yes, some of them may be true, but there are also a lot of people from Long Island that don’t fit the stereotypes that other people have of them.
