1 Behavioristik Pertemuan 10 Matakuliah: U0062/Strategi Manajemen Persuasi Tahun: 2006

2 Behaviorism Behaviorism or behaviorisms is an approach to psychology based on the proposition that behavior can be researched scientifically without recourse to inner mental states. It is a form of materialism, denying any independent significance for the mind. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behaviorism

3 Behavioral Psychology or behaviorism, is a major theoretical field in psychology. Behaviorism is a philosophy that assumes:  The proper concern of psychological science should be the study of observable behavior and responses.  Concepts such as "consciousness" or even "the mind" cannot be meaningfully defined and therefore, should not be studied by scientists. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behaviorism

4 Behavioral Psychology  People are born as "blank slates". This assumption is based on the philosophy of John Locke (1690) who described the mind as a tabula rasa. Whatever people learn to do (this means all behavior), depends on their interactions and experiences with the environment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behaviorism

5 Behavioral Psychology  Changes in behavior (i.e. learning) follow the Law of Effect. E.L. Thorndike defined this law which says: "behavior that is followed by satisfying consequences will be more likely to be repeated and behavior that is followed by unsatisfying consequences will be less likely to be repeated".  Changes in behavior or learning can occur automatically as people (and all organisms) discover Contingency Relationships - the occurrence of one event is dependent on or determined by the occurrence of another event. This is also called associative learning. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behaviorism

6 Behavioral Psychology  Behavioral Psychology is basically interested in how our behavior results from the stimuli both in the environment and within ourselves. They study, often in minute detail, the behaviors we exhibit while controlling for as many other variables as possible. Often a grueling process, but results have helped us learn a great deal about our behaviors, the effect our environment has on us, how we learn new behaviors, and what motivates us to change or remain the same. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behaviorism

7 Tugas 3  Baca Materi Pokok pert.13 sebagai gambaran tugas 3.  Detail dan mekanisme tugas akan dijelaskan oleh dosen di dalam kelas.
