2. Essay Requirements You may structure the essay as you wish, but the following standards are usually appropriate. Introduction Introductory statement Linking statements Thesis statement Body paragraphs Logically develop an argument that supports your thesis statement. You may use headings and subheadings if you wish.

3. Conclusion The conclusion usually consists of a summary of your argument, and relates to the original thesis statement. New information is not normally included here. References Non-academic web sources should not form the basis for your essay. At least five scientific journal articles should be cited. The Web of Science (ISI) is a good search engine for science papers Academic books are also a good source of information. Effective use of the library is one of the most important skills you will develop at University. Further details will be provided in class.
