4 – MODULAR T – Spain DEFINITION Vocational guidance can be defined as a process supporting individual professional and training choices and trying to link the individual’s requirements (aptitudes, motivation, interests) with the existence of external opportunities (both professional and training). In most of the Community Communications and in the new IPLLL (Integrate Programme for Lifelong learning) programme, guidance and lifelong learning are relevant keys for helping to choose among different possibilities in the professional transition phases from a lifelong personal and professional development view.

7 – MODULAR T – Spain GENERAL PRINCIPLES: 1º To specify the activities that are developed in the class to facilitate the decision making of each student or student throughout their schooling with regard to their academic and professional future choosing between different ways and alternatives. The rol of the teachers consists of as far as possible facilitating means and necessary the educative aid so that they suitably confront the task of discovering and of choosing the best ways for them. 2º To facilitate the election of the academic itineraries to continue in the educative system as well as to facilitate the labor and professional insertion of the young people.

8 – MODULAR T – Spain GENERAL PRINCIPLES: 3º To keep the vocational guidance during all the courses in secondary and baccalaureate. 4º The main goal is not to direct the students towards different ways. Our proposal is to create a process of development of the necessary abilities so that it can be the student by himself who makes his own decisions from a free and responsible way, as much at the present moment as throughout its life.

9 – MODULAR T – Spain GENERAL PRINCIPLES: 5º The academic and professional guidance in our proposal will go fundamentally directed to those learn to decide by using a realistic and planned form being based on four fundamental aspects: 1.An suitable knowledge of their own interests, capacities and resources 2.An suitable knowledge of the different educative and labor options and of the itineraries that are opened and closed with each option 3.A suitable knowledge the labor market exigencies and its relation with the different studies. 4.An suitable dominion of the strategies and abilities of decision (to identify the problem, to clarify alternatives, to value its positive and negative consequences, to heft and to decide)

10 – MODULAR T – Spain GENERAL PRINCIPLES: 6º The academic and vocational guidance proposal must specify the activities to follow in three differentiated but complementary ways: the didactic programming of each unit, the tutorial action and other specific activities. 7º the development of the plan must be coordinated with the Department of Direction, that will be in charge to provide technical support to the activities that, of programmed form and systematic, they are made in the class.

12 – MODULAR T – Spain COORDINATION, FOLLOW-UP AND EVALUATION OF THE PLAN: 1.Through the periodic meetings of the tutors with the department of guidance and the head of Studies will articulate the personal resources and materials ones and it will provide the advising and necessary support so that it is possible the development of the Plan from a coordinated form. 2.Throughout the course the follow-up team will be making a control of the development of the Plan to introduce the necessary adjustments.

13 – MODULAR T – Spain COORDINATION, FOLLOW-UP AND EVALUATION OF THE PLAN: 3. The activities that affect the development of the didactic programming of the different matters will be object for the coordination in the periodic meetings. 4. The coordination team will gather the contributions of the implied ones to elaborate the memory that on the development of the Plan must be made when finalizing the course. In this memory are analyzed and valued the activities carried out and improvements facing later courses set out.

15 – MODULAR T – Spain COMMON LINES OF WORKS TO ALL THE COURSES: We have contemplated three main lines of work: a)Activities directed to the students skills development implied into the process of taking of decisions and also to get the students be able to know their own capacities, motivations and interest. b)Activities to facilitate information to the pupils about the different educative and professional options related to the course. c)Activities to cause the pupils contact with the labour market.

16 – MODULAR T – Spain Activities directed to the students skills development implied in the process of taking of decisions and to know their own capacities motivations and interest: The capacities implied in the process of decision making are developed throughout all the educative process through varied experiences of learning. Therefore, we are going to pay special attention to everything what currículo can contribute to the development of the vocational maturity through the didactic programming of the different units. Favoring realistic and positive auto - concept Favoring that the students become aware from the capacities that they are acquiring with which they are learning in class Working of sufficient way those capacities that facilitate the acquisition of abilities for the decision making (resolution of problems, obtaining and analysis of information…)

17 – MODULAR T – Spain Activities to facilitate to the pupils information on the different educative and professional options related to the course. The students must know so much the immediate options as those that appear along the term, analyzing the possibilities that are opened or closed with each option. To favor a more precise knowledge of the later studies and on the different professionals activities that are related to the fields of application of the discipline studied in the labor world and with the superior studies considered from which it is deepened in the study of the matter at issue. To contribute to the development of the vocational training basis is adopted, as far as possible, a practical and applied treatment of the contents, relating them to situations that they will find in the labor world.

18 – MODULAR T – Spain Activities to cause the contact of the pupils with the world of the work. We try pupils be able to know the characteristics of the labor market and them to be able to understand the value and the utility of the things they have learned as much in the institute as in all those professions where the learning acquired is studied in depth. Raising practical and functional learning and connecting them with their professional activities Raising in works individual and group activities in which the students must look for data and information related to the labor work Developing an hour of tutoring per week specific activities to contribute to the students acquire knowledge of the labor world and the different professions. To make use of the visits that are made to industries and other work centers to make the students know certain issues related to the professional tasks, the way to access, the required title, etc, by making different tasks and research activities.

21 – MODULAR T – Spain Activities that are developed within the Tutorial Plan of Action (By the teacher): Activities to discover the own interests and possibilities Activities to reflect and to debate about the utility of the capacities which are promoted in the different areas Activities to analyze and to practice the decision making through games and simulations Activities to obtain a better knowledge of the labor world and the insertion process within it.

22 – MODULAR T – Spain Activities developed within the Tutorial Plan of Action (By the teacher): -Knowledge of the educative system structure and the different options and itineraries: 3-4 informative sessions about the educative system structure, the baccalaureate, the vocational training, the access to the university studies from the baccalaureate and the vocational training courses. -Knowledge of the productive and labor system and the processes of insertion within it 1-2 informative sessions about the access to the work, searching for a job, etc. -Knowledge of the own possibilities, their interest and limitations: questionnaires of self analysis to discover their e own interests, capacities and values. -Development of abilities for the decision making: activities for the analysis of the possible consequences coming from the different alternatives.

23 – MODULAR T – Spain Activities that the department of guidance makes: -To elaborate an informative guide for tutors and students about the options they have when finalizing each course and when finalizing the secondary school -To help to parents and students whose specific propose and consultations cannot be solved by the tutor. -Elaboration of the information to be given to parents in certain celebrated meetings. -Preparation of a book containing the information related to the matters that can be attended in Baccalaureate studies. -Organization and implementation of the consultation activity with the software about guidance -Collaboration with the tutors in the personal guidance to the students who require it.

25 – MODULAR T – Spain THE ORIENTATION ADVICE AT THE END OF THE COURSE: At the end of the compulsory education all the students will receive, with the qualifications obtained, an orientation advice about their academic and professional future, that in any case will be prescriptive and will also have a confidential character.
