13. Sticky Wickets A teacher wanted her class library time to be every Friday afternoon so that they would be certain to have “new” reading materials for the weekend. After about month, she asked if you would dismiss her class at the end of the day and take them to the buses as she felt ill. This happened again a few weeks later, and then again… How do you handle it?

14. Sticky Wickets The superintendent asks you to be on the hiring committee for the new head of IT for the system. She says she is looking for someone to really “take control”, “close all the loopholes”, and take away the “computer fiefdoms” some teachers have. You have always had the final say in the way the library network works and have had admin rights. Do you tell the superintendent that you disagree with her point of view? How do you handle the interviews?

15. Sticky Wickets The head of the English department thinks that the library should take over the issuing of required reading texts because they have an automated system. The principal thinks this is a great idea and will cut down on the losses incurred by texts not being returned by students. What is your reaction? What are the issues involved?
