Figure 1 -Regression lines for three peak power equations used in this study using SJ data vs actual peak power scores as recorded by the force platform. The Harman et al. (6) equation (61.9 x SJ height [cm] + 36.0 x body mass [kg] - 1822) and equation IIa (60.7 x SJ height [cm] + 45.3 X body mass [kg] - 2055) reveal accurate regression equations. The Lewis formula (4) ([square root]4.9 x body mass [kg] x [square root]SJ height (m) greatly underestimates peak power.
