BUET Syndicate has revised the previous proposal and decided to implement the BUET Institutional Information System (BIIS) in Oct 2006
Most of the works has been done in about 6 years

8. Main Features of BIIS It is role-based application software
An user must login using UserID and Password
An user can access an action for which his role is authorized
The data for anything are entered only once
The name, designation and other information of an employee are entered only once by an input module, and the other modules can view the information
Marks/ grades are entered by grade-sheet preparer only, others can view the marks/ grades
Course No, Course Title, etc. are entered by a module. Students can only select courses for registration
It is web-based application software
The back-end database is in Oracle 11g
The front-end is developed by JSP and JavaScript
