7 Class Activity - Part 2   Create a new VoiceThread using the images in the Workshop folder, named “VIDEO THREAD / IMAGES FOR ACTIVITY   Assume you are ESL students   Make 4-slide thread, which will be used for each student to comment using the various options (text, video, phone, and microphone) * These are images from the 2010 Olympics and you may put them in any sequence you feel makes sense for a short story.   Each “ESL student” will make a comment to demonstrate his/her understanding of English vocabulary and pronunciation   Send your VoiceThread to your two classmates and start collaborating! * Feel free to help your fellow “ESL students” and correct them if they make a mistake on pronouncing the words, this is the whole value of collaboration. 9 Wrap-up How this can be applied to the classroom?   Have ESL students put their poems in an audio format to be shared with others. This will encourage them to practice their speaking fluency to get it "just right" because they will wanted to impress their audience.   Have students engage in conversations about books or digital storytelling.   Students can show their speaking skills without feeling "on-the-spot" as they might in a class or group setting.
