Tocar and Parecer

“Tocar” To say what you have to do or to say whose turn it is to do something, use the verb “tocar”

This verb follows the same structure as “gustar”: me toca(n) nos toca(n) te toca(n) le toca(n) les toca(n)

*Always use the INFINITIVE of the verb after TOCAR. Me toca limpiar la sala. Te toca lavar los platos. Me toca cocinar la cena.

The BEST way to structure these phrases is to use the following: A mí me toca… A ti te toca… A ( ) le toca… A nosotros nos toca … A ( ) les toca…

1.It´s my turn to order. 2.It´s your turn to write. 3.It´s our turn to speak. 4.It´s my dad´s turn to clean the bathroom. 5.It´s my parents turn to pay.

“Parecer” This verb means “to seem, to appear” and is used just like gustar and tocar.

A mí me parece interesante la película. ¿A ti te parece fácil o difícil el examen?

Práctica: 1) The book seems boring to me. 2) Does the car seem pretty to you? 3) The boy seems cute to us!

TAREA:  Textbook pg. 179, Act. #32, #33  Write 5 “tocar” sentences and 5 “parecer” sentences.
