3 What Animals and Where? Dogs were the first to be used as draft animals. Early Eurasian nomads used dogs for hunting reindeer, and soon after this they discovered that reindeer can pull their wagon. In India elephants were used in ceremonial services. In South East Asia bullock-carts are used then and until this day.

4 Dogs were the first domestic and draft animals. Eurasian nomads used dogs to pull sleds for hunting for reindeer. Many other parts of the world used animals for either transportation or for a ceremony. In India, elephants are used as decorative pieces in a ceremony. Bullock- carts are used in South East Asia for pulling this or even in a ceremony. Elephants were not only used in ceremony's and for pulling things but they also were in war. When the elephants were in war, it made a shock to the other troops. On the elephants were fitted armor and swords were attached to sawn-off-tusks. Mules, donkeys, horses, and reindeer have been used ad pack carriers for a long time. Horses and reindeer were used for riding. Horse riding developed from the sophisticated harness, saddles, and training methods. In the Arctic, transportation like by airplanes, hovercraft, and other mechanized vehicles never replaced the dog sleds. Cattle had been used as draft animals for a very long time. Slow oxen were first used by the Sumerians. Camels are very important as a pack. Since their 2 toed feet make them sure footed on sand and rock. They also can carry up to 660 pounds and travel a long way with out water.

5 Mules donkeys, horses, and reindeer have been used in the past for carrying things. Horses and reindeer were used for riding. From this, horse-riding was developed, They used saddles, harnesses, and training methods. Also, today horse-back riding is a sport many people do and enjoy. Horses are used on farms to pull things.

6 Conclusion Animals play a big role in our life today. Even though we do not use them for traveling, some people use them for in the Arctic for transportation. Farmers use them for pulling things around the fields. Elephants were used in India in ceremonies. Also they were used in war to shock the other troops. Bullock-carts are used in South East Asia to this very day. Mules, donkeys, horses, and reindeer helped us carry supplies. Camels were very important in hot climates because they could hold up to 660 pounds and their two toes feet make it easier for them to walk across sand and rocks. If we did not have these animals now and back then, we wouldn’t be able to travel.
