7 State Health Department Successes  New York  Received funding in 2009  Successes: Patient Conversation video, Injection Safety webcast, Key informant interview collaboration, CME course, engaged workgroup  Nevada  Received funding 2009 – 2011  Successes: Passage of SB 419 – Injection Safety Attestation, partnership with state broadcasters association, movie theater ads

8 State Health Department Successes  New Jersey  Received funding in 2010  Successes: Injection Safety Ambassadors, PSA, Community College Allied Health outreach  North Carolina  Received funding in 2012  Successes: New hire for position, working group kick-off is later this month!

9 State Health Department Successes  Colorado  After a 2011 incident, the state health department’s HAI program: Started a workgroup Decided on targeted messaging Reached out to One & Only Campaign for materials Creating local partnerships  Montana  An active State HAI Coordinator ordered enough copies of the SIPC Training video to disseminate to directors of nursing in all hospitals across Montana

11 All Health Departments Can…..  Feature a link to the One & Only Campaign on your health department website.  Reach out to your state HAI Coordinator to determine areas of collaboration  Order free One & Only Campaign materials for dissemination in your state or locality
