5 SSBN Fourteen Ohio-Class SSBNs Notional Schedule: Calibration Support:
Eight home ported in Silverdale, WA Six home ported in Kings Bay, GA Notional Schedule: 21 day maintenance period at home port (Silverdale, WA or Kings Bay, GA), 90 Day deployment. Two Crews (Blue/Gold) Calibration Support: Calibration exchanges of portable T&ME conducted during 21 Day maintenance period – 100% portable T&ME calibrated at all times SWFPAC/SWFLANT Navy Calibration Laboratories support/coordinate installed and installed removable “I” Level T&ME calibration support.

6 SSGN First Four Ohio-Class SSBNs converted to SSGN Notional Schedule:
USS Ohio, USS Michigan, USS Florida, USS Georgia Notional Schedule: 3-Month Major Maintenance Period at home port (Bremerton, WA or Kings Bay, GA), 15 month deployment, including 3 forward deployed voyage repair periods (VRP). Calibration Support: Two calibration exchanges of portable T&ME conducted during MMP (upon return from deployment, and just prior to departure) Calibration exchange of portable T&ME conducted at each VRP to lessen impact on forward labs. Short interval installed instruments supported by VR site laboratories USS Frank Cable (AS-40) – Guam NAVAIR Calibration Laboratory – Diego Garcia

7 Key Program Instructions
OPNAVINST A (TMDE, ATS, METCAL) SSPINST C (T&ME LCS Instruction) OPNAVINST F (TRIDENT Logistics Support) OD63913 (METPRO) OD55373A (T&ME LCS Procedures) OD55551 (SSBN Substitution Guide) OD64498 (SSGN Substitution Guide) OD65701 (Calibration Support Procedures for SSGN Forward Deployment)

8 Key Responsibilities for LCS
SSPINST C (T&ME LCS Instruction) Paragraph 3.a T&ME covered by this instruction… (1) All SWS, AWS and non-SWS/AWS GPTE, SPTE, GPS and SPS onboard SSBN/SSGN Paragraph 7 Responsibilities… f. NAVSEA and SPAWAR shall: Submit data sheets Outfit and replace non-SWS T&ME (excluding exchange pool) Provide support for new requirements (procedures, intervals, equipment) Provide maintenance documentation to NSWC Crane Provide authorized substitute information for OD55551 Ensure that NAVSEA resources (e.g., provision of authorized onboard FCA portable calibrators, audit of FCAs, evaluation and certification of FCAs, provision of “O” level calibration procedures)….and notify SSP when changes are planned.

10 SSP Requirements Process
Originator (generally contractor) initiates T&ME Requirement (Data Sheet) via web site

11 SSP Requirements Process
Data Sheet Identifies: Originator and Approving Official (SSP or NAVSEA Cog) New, Revised or Cancelled Requirement SPTE or GPTE Specific Model, Accessories, Authorized Substitutes chosen from OD Selection List Procurement Required and by who Calibration Support (Completed by MSD) Repair Support Allocation (SSBN, Work Center, Qty, Prime System) Procedural Documents for Requirement (MRC, SMP, Tech Manual, RPM, etc.)

12 SSP Requirements Process

13 SSP Requirements Process
Electronic Data Sheet Routing Process Flow Originator Creates Designated Government Rep Approves NSWC Crane Review Ensure proper TME selection and non-proliferation Update allowance documentation, initiate procurement, update OD55551 (SSBN Substitution Guide) NSWC Corona Review Determine calibration support level, update METRL, identify ICP

14 SSP Requirements Process

15 NAVSEA Requirements Process
Upload PMS FR Identify MRCs added, deleted or changed Identify T&ME impact Run comparison routine Cancel Requirement and Remove T&ME if required New Requirement Link Requirement to Data Sheet No Yes Generate “Matrix” of Data Sheet requirements Proliferation of T&ME Obviously the data sheet process is in an ideal world, that does not exist. To ensure changing requirements are captured, NSWC Crane reviews both SSP and NAVSEA maintenance documentation for portable T&ME impacts. The intent of the process is to ensure the sailor has the equipment to perform the procedure, remove equipment not required and ensure calibration support in place. Initiate Data Sheet No Yes Use Equipment Onboard

16 NAVSEA Requirements Data

17 T&ME Matrix

18 NAVSEA 08 Requirements Process
BPMI generate new requirements (Data Sheets) NAVSEA 08 approve requirements NAVSEA 08 determine revised or cancelled requirements BPMI procure initial outfitting and exchange pool NSWC Crane push requirements to exchange pool/boats (need schedule) NSWC Crane update GPTE Addendum with NAVSEA 08 SCAT requirements NAVSEA 08 remove SCAT requirements from QCOSAL? NSWC Crane update “Matrix”
