3.  Gay Marriage: Kal Penn supports gay marriage because he believes that people should have the right to make their own choices. They should also have individual freedom and equality just like everyone else.  Abortion: Penn is pro-choice, because he believes that women should have the ability to decide for themselves if they should keep the baby or not. He also thinks that more strict laws need to be placed, to insure that teens have parental consent.

4.  Drugs: Kal believes that hardcore drugs should stay illegal, but softer drugs life marijuana should be legalized for medical purposes only. He also thinks that America needs to put more effort into the war on drugs, to stop illegal substances from being sold on the streets and imported into the country.  Health Care: Kal Penn supports a national government run health care system, so that all citizens will be covered. He believes there is a lot of corruption in the health insurance companies today, and sees government run health care to be the only solution to this problem.

5.  Taxes: Kal is a firm believer that we should place more of the tax burden on the wealthy people making $250,000+ yearly. Also, the lower and middle classes should still pay taxes, but amounts proportional to what they can afford.  Foreign Policy: Penn thinks that we should work towards ending the War in Afghanistan and should make progress to remove troops from Iraq. We also shouldn’t get involved with other countries’ government, because we have our own issues to work out.

6. Kal is going to speak at the Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire on Sunday February 15, 2009 about health care. Kal will be speaking over dinner, and plates will be $50. He is speaking here because New Hampshire is the first primary, and he wants to ensure his chance at winning the democratic nomination. Penn is going to Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut on Tuesday February 17 to speak on the importance of voting to the students and also about health care. It is a fundraiser so students will not have to pay to listen to his speech. He is going here because it is one of the country’s best schools and wants to reach out to the younger generations.

7. Next Kal will go to the Trump World Tower in New York City and speak about immigration. He will go there on Friday February 20, 2009. He is going to speak about immigration in New York because it is one of the top two states where immigrants come into. Kal Penn will be speaking at the Iowa capitol building in Des Moines, Iowa on Sunday February 22, 2009. He will be speaking about foreign policy and his views on the war. Admission will be free. He is speaking here because Iowa has the first caucus in the US.

8.  On Wednesday February 25, 2009 Kal Penn will be speaking at the Greenway Plaza Luxury Hotel in Houston, Texas. Kal Penn will be speaking about his opinions on gun safety and control. He will be speaking over dinner, and each plate will cost $100. He wants to speak here so he can try to win over the primarily Republican state. Next Kal plans to speak at the Cliff House Restaurant in San Francisco, California on Saturday February 28, 2009. He will hold a dinner where he speaks about immigration and gay marriage rights. Kal is speaking to California about these issues because many immigrants come into there and because they have a very vibrant and well known gay community. Plates for this event will cost $75.

9.  On Monday March 2, 2009 Kal will speak at the East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. This will not be a fundraiser, he plans to talk about foreign policy and the importance of voting. He is speaking at the high school here because he wants to appeal to the students who will be voting for their first time. Lastly, Kal will stop at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Portland, Oregon on Thursday March 5, 2009 to speak about the war and pulling troops from Iraq. Dinner plates will cost $50 to listen to Kal’s speech. He is speaking here because he wants to express his concerns on the importance of ending our war in the middle east with the people of Oregon.

14.  Much of the funding for Kal Penn’s political campaign will come from fundraisers at his speeches. He will charge for dinner plates where he is speaking, and people will pay to support his campaign for presidency. Kal also will rely on campaign funding from donations made directly to him and the democratic party. In addition to these, Kal will also contribute some of his own personal money to help pay for the costly political campaign. Kal Penn is expecting to need about $250 million to run for the presidency.

18.  The Democratic National Convention took place on August 25-28, 2009 in Denver, Colorado. Speeches were made by all three candidates: Kal Penn, Neil Patrick Harris, and Harold Lee. At the end of the convention, it was announced that Kal Penn had won the democratic nomination for candidacy in the 2009 presidential election. Penn then gave his acceptance speech:  “ It is an honor for me today to accept this nomination as the democratic candidate for the 2009 presidential election. I want to thank my family and friends for sticking with me, God for inspiring me, and most of all my supporters that voted for me. Without all of your support I wouldn’t be anywhere today. 23. Kal Penn went on to win the popular vote, which led to a victory from the electoral college vote as well. The final count was 415 (Penn) votes to 123 (Fox) votes. Penn practically stole the election, only allowing Fox to win 10 states. = Kal Penn (Democrat) = Ron Fox (Republican)
