You hear that William Penn’s colony promises equal rights and religious choice. You leave England in search of equality and religious freedom. OR You are a Lenni Lenape Native American who meets William Penn. You admire Penn for his fairness. You give Penn and his settlers information about how to survive in the new world. As a webquest researcher, do you realize that without the Lenni Lenape, Penn and the early settlers would not have survived. Pennsylvania became the model colony. William Penn set an important example for liberty Penn’s vision of his “Holy Experiment” showed how a free society would actually work. Penn proved that people could make laws on their own. He showed how people could learn to tolerate one another peacefully. William Penn believed in the power of free people.
