5. Chikungunya The chikungunya is a virus transmitted to humans by an infected mosquito. The number one transmitter of this disease is the Yellow Fever mosquito, an insect from tropical regions, such as South America or Africa. Because the symptoms are significant and may last for an extended period, prevention is key. At several points each day, we will all pause as a group to apply DEET-based repellent.

Will my cell phone work? Yes, your cell phone should work in San Juan and most of the cities. Will I need to convert money? No. The dollar is the only currency you’ll need.
