3 Cadet Aviation Program
Powered flying has been a major part of Air Cadets since start Gliding program began in 1965, now largest glider training program in the world Air Cadet League owns and insures 65 gliders and 30 tow planes Over junior cadets participate in familiarization flying in spring and fall Every summer, over 500 senior cadets get a Glider Pilot Licence (GPL) or Private Pilot Licence (PPL) through cadet program Average of glider flights a year in Air Cadet SGS 2-33 gliders

Advanced Aviation Technology - Airport Canadore College (6 weeks) Advanced Aviation Technology - Aircraft Canadore College (6 weeks) Advanced RGS Eastern (6 weeks) Oshkosh EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, Wisconsin (2 weeks)

11 Glider Physical Limits
Limits are due to SGS 2-33 weight and balance limitations and cockpit size Cadets not meeting limits will result in them being RTU’d (Returned to Unit) Limits Maximum Minimum Weight 200 lbs/ 90 kg 90 lbs/ 40 kg Height 6 ft 3 in/ 190 cm 4 ft 6 in/ 137 cm

12 PGS Information Units: Quizzes/homework done during each unit
Theory of Flight Air Law Meteorology Navigation/Radio/Airmanship Quizzes/homework done during each unit Tests at the end of each unit, done at beginning of class (6:30 pm) PGS Exam in December and practice exams afterwards for applicants

13 PGS Information Will require: From the Ground Up – 29th Edition ($60)

14 PGS Schedule Classes Tuesdays 25 Sep to 11 Dec (12 classes) 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm Applicant Review Classes Tue 8 Jan, Fri 11 Jan Glider/Power Entrance Exam Sat 12 Jan National Course Interviews Sat 2 Feb (to be confirmed)
