3. Cadet Aviation Program
Powered flying has been a major part of Air Cadets since start
Gliding program began in 1965, now largest glider training program in the world
Air Cadet League owns and insures 65 gliders and 30 tow planes
Over junior cadets participate in familiarization flying in spring and fall
Every summer, over 500 senior cadets get a Glider Pilot Licence (GPL) or Private Pilot Licence (PPL) through cadet program
Average of glider flights a year in Air Cadet SGS 2-33 gliders

Limits are due to SGS 2-33 weight and balance limitations and cockpit size
Cadets not meeting limits will result in them being RTU’d (Returned to Unit)

12. PGS Information Units: Quizzes/homework done during each unit
Theory of Flight
Air Law
Meteorology
Navigation/Radio/Airmanship
Quizzes/homework done during each unit
Tests at the end of each unit, done at beginning of class (6:30 pm)
PGS Exam in December and practice exams afterwards for applicants
