1 PILOT TRAINING IN CANADA
European Union: Great Britain France Germany Irish Republic Spain Portugal Italy Greece Denmark Luxembourg Belgium Holland Finland Sweden Austria The European Union (EU) started out as the Iron and Steel Confederation after the Second World War and has since evolved into the Single Market. Britain joined what was called the Common Market in 1973 with the idea of being a member of a trading club that avoided trade levies for most goods. The EU partners now number 15 countries, despite there only being 12 stars on the European Flag. Norway voted against joining while Switzerland has long been against membership. Arlo Speer Chief, Commercial Flight Standards Transport Canada Presentation to Air Transport Association of Canada November, 2010
