7 Make the most of what you have! 27% of public library websites in Georgia feature a reader’s advisory page. Half of these feature GALILEO or links to Novelist or Novelist K-8, the great reader’s advisory tools provided via GALILEO. 56% of public library websites have a genealogy page, but only 31% feature GALILEO or links to Ancestry and Heritage Quest, the essential genealogy resources provided via GALILEO. 48% of the University System of Georgia libraries have a link to a journals A-Z listing, but only 10% of those link to the service in GALILEO.

Home users must authenticate if they select a link or service (search) that requires log in. Provide information on how to get the current GALILEO password If you offer a way for user’s to login with a library card or student id, provide a way to access the current GALILEO password from a secure page. Login to GALILEO via PINES For PINES libraries, provide information on how to login to GALILEO after logging into PINES with PINES id/pw. Login to GALILEO via GeoLocation Provide link to information on logging in via GeoLocation.

25 Finally—Trusted-Source Authentication Does your library/institution provide a way for users to log in to view information or pages on your website? If So, you might be a good candidate for using GALILEO trusted-source authentication. GALILEO trusted-source authentication allows you to: Embed special GALILEO Express Links that contain authentication information. These special GALILEO Express Links will log your users into GALILEO automatically—no password required. These links have to live behind secure webpages that require a user to log in to view.
